We all need to have a creative outlet - a window, a space - so we don't lose track of ourselves. —Norman FischerAll classes take place at my private studio where there is a minimum/maximum of only 4 students.
All students must be at least 18 years old, have an open mind – and be ready to enjoy.
Introduction to Mosaics & Mixed Media
I have designed this course in a way that is easily adjustable to a variety of artistic skill levels. Students do not have to pre-plan a design since the project will evolve each week.
Using 3 separate 8 x 8” framed panels you will learn design & technical considerations of direct glue mosaics.
The completed 3 panels shimmer in light – they tell a visual (and technical) story and can be hung vertically, horizontally or individually.
Intermediate Mosaics and Mixed Media - Independent Projects
Based on your project requirements we will proceed with direct, mesh or film method of mosaic making.
Some project ideas are: interior or exterior tables, mirrors, wall art & custom tiles.
Technical discussions about substrates, adhesives, grout and suppliers will be an important part of the class. Since each project is unique you will gain the benefit of learning a variety of techniques.
Private Class - Independent Project
If you prefer to work independently consider booking one or more personal classes. This custom class is available to beginners and advanced students.
You will define your objective and project and I will help you achieve it.
5 weeks 7pm-9pm week nights or 10am-12noon Saturdays
$250.00 + HST All materials are included
$200.00 + HST Materials are not included
10 hours of instruction booked with maximum of 4 students. (i.e. 5 x 2hr evenings or 4 x 2.5 hr weekends)
Fee for 5 hours of personal instruction per day is $150.00 + HST
Material cost is not included
